Cartwright Jewelers receives Giving Hearts Award
Susan Cartwright-Coates’ contributions to the CKNW Orphans’ Fund are being recognized on National Philanthropy Day.
The Association of Fundraising Professionals has presented Cartwright-Coates with its Giving Hearts award, which acknowledges and celebrates individuals and organizations, volunteers, leaders, fundraisers, philanthropists and others who make a difference to their organizations and the social profit community.
Susan Cartwright is a firm believer that “we can do no great things, only small things with great love” and lives these values daily through the dedication she shows in her community. New Westminster is a better place because of Susan’s dedication to serving both businesses and community. Over the last 16 years, Cartwright Jewelers has contributed over $140,000 to the CKNW Orphans’ Fund, complimented by hundreds of volunteer hours served by Susan as a director on the board and serving on the Grants Committee. The CKNW Orphans’ Fund has been dear to Susan’s heart as the Fund was started in New Westminster in 1945. Susan has dedicated countless hours to community work that includes the Royal City Rotary Club, Uptown Business Association, Uptown Business Improvement Association, Hyack Festival Association, CKNW Orphans’ Fund, Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation, and the New Westminster Chamber of Commerce.
